Job title: Jr. Finance Assistant

Job description: Robert Half is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist for a fast growing organization located in Ottawa-West. This is a full time/permanent position on site.
Responsibilities:

-Prepare invoices and bill clients.

-Maintain proactive relationships with clients to ensure smooth collection of invoices.

-Facilitate timely collections by sending payment reminders and contacting clients with outstanding accounts with coming or past due balances.

-Process and match incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.

-Prepare bank deposits for manager to deposit.

-Review and reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted. Follow up on any variances.

-Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues.

-Maintain documentation of policies, procedures and internal controls.

-Provide customer service in dealing with client and vendor inquiries.

-Provide general reception duties as required.

-Backup to other Administrative Assistants as required.

Qualifications:

-Accounting degree or a related field

-A minimum of 2 years of experience with full cycle accounts receivable (AR, Billing).

-Excellent communication and negotiation skills with clients and superior problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively follow-up with clients by phone to discuss outstanding invoices.

-High proficiency with MS Office & experience with computerized accounting programs is an asset.

-High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
