Job Description
In your new role as our Junior Finance Manager, you will report to the Senior Director of Finance for Health & Care segment. In your new role, you will be responsible to review, analyze and prepare financial reports, analyses, and recommendations for leadership in Finance and Health & Care. In addition, you will perform analysis, review and implements process improvements within the finance area. Your position works closely with operation teams and leadership to improve the profitability of the business. You will also lead whole or significant parts of projects in improving internal controls and financial reporting & analysis function. You excel at the development of internal and/or external relationships with stakeholders to provide strong financial support to help the group achieve their financial results.
- Lead and coordinate accounting and finance activities through period end closes, budget development, forecast development, financial analysis, and audits for the assigned portfolio of accounts.
- Oversee the period end close processes for assigned portfolio of accounts and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. Ensure assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses are accurately reported and accounted for in accordance with GAAP and accounting best practices.
- Lead the budget and forecast development processes for the assigned portfolio through closely working with operations stakeholders, ensuring budgets and forecasts are done in accordance with business goals and strategic initiatives.
- Maintain the budgets and forecasts for the portfolio of accounts, report on actual performance. Work with stakeholders to investigate discrepancies or variances to budgets and forecasts.
- Provide support to leadership teams to ensure improvements to profitability, and accountability is being met for financial performance, processes, and policies.
- Being a savvy user of the organization’s data and systems, conduct quantitative analysis using financial and operation data for planning, budgeting, analysis, and interpretation of trends.
- Prepare and present financial reports, analyses, findings, and recommendations to support business initiatives, such as to respond to client requests, to support union contract negotiations, and client contract negotiations, etc.
- Support the development of new bids and re-bids and work with colleagues from commercial finance, sales and development, and operations in support to achieving our growth targets. Review financial proformas and contracts in the process to ensure they capture the economic substance of the deal.
- Be a contributing member of the finance team and work collaboratively with peers to achieve common goals.
Qualifications
- You possess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance
- 3-5 years’ accounting/finance experience
- Excellent customer service, stakeholder influencing skills
- A financial designation (e.g. CPA, CFA, etc.) is a strong asset.
- Strong interest or currently pursuing a financial designation (CPA, CFA, etc.)
- MSOffice software (advanced Excel required)
- Excellent interpersonal communication, influence and persuasion skills, ability to present financial results to various levels of management
- Ability to work with teams to support their financial goals
