Department Overview

Business Banking Finance supports the development and achievement of financial results by providing proactive analysis, expertise and advice to our partners relating to all financial matters. Business Banking is composed of three distinct businesses: Commercial Banking, Small Business Banking and TD Auto Finance.

Our primary objective is to continually evolve the Brand that encompasses the Business Banking Finance and Analysis Team: Gather / Analyze / Interpret / Advise.

Job Requirements

Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations:

• University degree in Business, Finance or a numerate discipline is preferred.
• Actively working towards or possessing a CPA/CFA/MBA is considered an asset.

Skills / Experience / Other Qualifications:

• Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills; able to clearly link financial results to strategic and operational activities
• Strong technical skills including advanced MS Excel and MS Power Point; experience with data visualization (Tableau / Power BI) considered an asset
• Ability to consolidate a large amount of information into clear, concise analysis and provide recommendations when appropriate
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Strong working knowledge of Bank reporting tools and hierarchy (Hyperion EMRS, and CCoA G/L structure)
• Ability to proactively follow up on identified issues and work toward resolution
• Minimum 5 years of Finance (reporting or FP&A) experience preferred

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Banking Finance, the incumbent’s primary responsibilities will be acting as a key contributor to our monthly reporting, quarterly forecasting, and annual planning process; as well as providing value-add analysis and finance support to business partners.

This position requires strong business acumen, substantial problem-solving and analytical capabilities, combined with strong communication and relationship-building skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.

Key accountabilities include:

• Managing and maintaining the overall production of the Consolidated Business Results. This includes:

• Ensuring all data is received, processed and approved on time.
• Leveraging technical skills to build, develop and maintain excel (or web based) reporting.
• Driving an efficient quarterly forecasting and annual planning process in partnership with product finance leads and centralized functions.
• Preparing reporting and commentary to Senior Management on Corporate Group expenses and FTE.
• Building relationships with Business Banking partners and non-Business Banking partners (i.e. Finance, PMO, Risk Management, TBSM)
• Promote a positive work environment that encourages productivity, innovation, creativity and teamwork
• Identify and understand challenges, both internal and external to the business and make value-added financial recommendations where appropriate
