Location: Remote with the odd day in office in Richmond Hill

Our public company client in the healthcare space is seeking an experienced Manager of Accounting. This role will be mainly remote and managing a staff of 4-6.

About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, the Manager of Accounting is responsible for overseeing the
general accounting function and all corporate business reporting and filings. More specifically:

• preparing consolidated financial statements
• evaluating the effectiveness of internal processes
• test and verify internal controls, establish and modify accounting policies,
• manage day to day accounting activities in closing m/e, q/e and y/e clos processes
• monthly OPEX actual vs budget and investigate variances
• monthly balance sheet reviews and reconciliations
• manage, mentor and guide a transactional team of 4-6ppl

Qualifications needed:
Aside from excellent work ethic, attitude, communication and inter-personal skills, the ideal candidate will have the following:

• CPA designation, with a minimum of 10 years progressive experience and minimum 5 years experience at a managerial level
• You will have expert knowledge of IFRS and accounting principals, consolidation and financial reporting experience
• Healthcare industry experience is an asset, although not required
• Excellent proficiency in MS Office, Microsoft AX Dynamics and SAP experience is preferred
