Our public company client in the healthcare space is seeking an experienced Manager of Accounting. This role will be mainly remote and managing a staff of 4-6.

About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, the Manager of Accounting is responsible for overseeing the
general accounting function and all corporate business reporting and filings. More specifically:
- preparing consolidated financial statements
- evaluating the effectiveness of internal processes
- test and verify internal controls, establish and modify accounting policies,
- manage day to day accounting activities in closing m/e, q/e and y/e clos processes
- monthly OPEX actual vs budget and investigate variances
- monthly balance sheet reviews and reconciliations
- manage, mentor and guide a transactional team of 4-6ppl
Qualifications needed:
Aside from excellent work ethic, attitude, communication and inter-personal skills, the ideal candidate will have the following:
- CPA designation, with a minimum of 10 years progressive experience and minimum 5 years experience at a managerial level
- You will have expert knowledge of IFRS and accounting principals, consolidation and financial reporting experience
- Healthcare industry experience is an asset, although not required
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office, Microsoft AX Dynamics and SAP experience is preferred
