What responsibilities will you have in this role?
- Oversees the academic processes associated with scheduling, timetables, and processes associated faculty workloads with Chair and Program Coordinators.
- Works collaboratively as part of the division’s team in the development and implementation of programming and services; and ensures effective academic program development, planning and review.
- Coordinates insurance needs with Finance for all School of Media film shoots including student films.
- Provides coordination for School of Media projects that focus on student success such as orientation, student services, open houses, student recognition, and develops strategies for student success/recognition.
- Processes part-time/partial load faculty contracts.
- Coordinates with Facilities to resolve issues at 230 Richmond including, HVAC issues and Health & Safety resolutions.
- Coordinates with Security to grant access to contractors or resolve access issues for students and student technicians.
- Other related duties as assigned.
What qualifications do you need for this role?
- Three-year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant discipline which may also include Fine Arts or Performing Arts.
- Minimum of five years in the Arts field with progressive experience in coordination, innovation, and business planning. Experience with space planning and build-outs an asset.
- Working knowledge of Mac platform and basic knowledge of the Adobe CS5 or higher.
- Proficiency in Banner (SIS), Academic Interface, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent computer skills; self-sufficient in word processing, spreadsheet and web applications.
- Commitment to collaborative decision-making and relationship building, strong advocacy and negotiation skills, as well as willingness and ability to delegate and to build teams.
- Commitment to student success and essential employability skills.
- Ability to demonstrate teamwork in a unionized academic environment with a diverse student and staff population.
- Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, team building and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated success in coordinating complex planning and administrative tasks with well-honed organizational skills.
- Ability to develop and sustain relationships with external organizations.
- Demonstrated commitment in delivering excellent service to others as this is key in supporting the success of our students and our College.
- Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience and styles.
- Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decision-making processes.
