Title: Part-time Bookkeeper
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide daily management of accounts, keeps businesses aligned with provincial and federal tax laws and compliance. Their duties include record maintenance, clerical work, and data entry
- Oversee a company’s financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable (commission and commission split), payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations
- Bookkeep accounting books’ records
- Issue cheques for company’s payment and President’s personal payment by validating invoices and expenses
- Reconcile statements
- Prepare proper accounting records and filing required supporting for each accounting transactions to external accountant
- Work with external accountant for each yearly’s tax filing
- Keep track and manage financial data, enter financial transactions into various databases/files, notify upper management of any accounting errors, and organize financial reports
- Work with external accountant to process bi-weekly payroll and ensure accurate calculations of wages and deductions
- Handle group RRSP contributions
- Carry out ad-hoc duties as required
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
- At least 3-5 years bookkeeping and accounting experiences
- Previous experiences to communicate with external accountants on company’s book
- Familiar with IFRS Accounting rules
- Familiar with Canada tax rule will have advantages
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fluency in English and Cantonese required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office application, including Words, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
- Attentive to detail and well organized
- Able to maintain high degree of confidentiality and integrity
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Capable to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
