Job description: Permanent Part Time available. Rate of pay $25.89 per hour, plus 14% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation.
55 hours biweekly.
John Noble Home is looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our team. Under the direction of the Finance Manager, this position compiles and maintains accounts receivables/accounts payables and trust by performing the following duties. Works in accordance with all the Policies and Procedures of the Home.
Trust Accounts:
- Prepare bank deposit slips
- Accept resident co-payment cheques, write receipt and post to Point Click Care
- Withdraws cash from bank accounts and keeps custody of resident trust fund
- Disburses cash and writes vouchers and cheques in payment of resident expenditures
- Posts data and balances accounts
- Issues itemized statement to resident
- Prepares sundry deposits in bank accounts and posts to the accounting record
- Reconciles resident trust bank account
- Collections of outstanding accounts
- All other duties may be assigned
Accounts Payable:
- Checks and approves all voucher for payment
- Prepares invoice deduction notices as necessary
- Answers all vendor inquires
- Prepares accounts payable cheques
- Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files
- Prepare analysis of accounts as required
- Assists in monthly closings
Accounts Receivable:
- Compiles data for occupancy and census records
- Receives all financial information pertinent to admissions and sets rates to be charged using the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care RRISA Tool
- Prepares and distributes monthly resident invoices including computation and posting of manual charges, billing adjustments and accounts receivable balancing to general ledger.
- Oversees the recording of payment on account and maintains accounts receivable files
- Completes all financial Ministry Applications and all forms required by the Home and the Ministry pertaining to admissions and rate assessments including applications for exceptional circumstances.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- One-year certificate from college or technical school in bookkeeping Level III.
- One (1) to three (3) years related experience with working knowledge of health care and/or municipal not for profit sector required.
- Computer knowledge in Excel, Word, and Windows as well as Point Click Care. Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP or related accounting software
- Demonstrated computer competence in the following areas: Windows ’98, Excel, Word, Point Click Care and Microsoft Dynamics GP.
