TD Insurance (TDI) is the number one direct writer for personal auto and home insurance in Canada and the leading insurer in the affinity market space. Claims Strategy, Enablement and Optimization (SEO) works alongside the Claims, Fraud, Legal and Vendor (CFLV) businesses and supports the integrated Claims P&L by driving a structured, systematic and end-to-end approach to managing claims performance and variability. The Center for Performance Excellence (CPE) team, within SEO, is accountable to provide deep analytics and understanding to the Claims business in order to optimize severity, customer experience, variation and capacity. Enabling Claims business to operate at it’s full potential will allow TDI to achieve its objective: Be the better insurance company in Canada.
Job Description
The Business Management Specialist within SEO’s CPE Team is accountable for:
- Workload Management Excellence: Provides deep analytics on business and performance to identify and enable capacity optimization strategies.
- Contributes to the strategic direction of the claims business in its stride to achieve performance excellence, best-in-class productivity, capacity and workload management.
- Identifies customer experience and colleagues experience opportunities through data-driven analytics.
- Develops robust processes and tools to proactively monitor key performance indicators to identify emerging trends affecting the results.
- Share insights with senior executives on available capacity and workload trends. Lead initiatives, business cases and action plan to ensure capacity and workload continue to be optimized to deliver performance objectives.
- Designs and leads multi-disciplinary, multi-level analysis to define and solve the most complex problems statement in CFLV. Collaborate with internal partners from various departments (Analytics & Modeling, Actuarial and CFLV).
- Shares insights, provides recommendations, prepares action plans to communicate to executives from various groups. Communicates the most complex analysis in a clear and concise manner, in both operational and financial aspects of the claims business.
- Acts as a leader in claims by ensuring internal partners adopt a data driven approach. Promote analytics within TD Insurance.
- Participate in the training and development of less experienced team members.

Requirements
What can you bring to TD? Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, business or actuarial science (if combined with relevant experience, other disciplines could be considered) followed by at least 7 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Analytics, Data Analysis, Statistical Analysis
- Experience in P&C insurance operations
- Experience in project or risk management
- Good knowledge of analytical tools such as Python, PL/SQL, and R is a plus.
- Master Excel and PowerPoint
- Be rigorous and very analytical. Oriented towards quality.
- Be creative in finding solutions to complex problems.
- Communicate abstract concepts clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with collaborators from different departments. Work efficiently in teams.
- Efficiently manage its time.
- Demonstrate maturity and a good professional image. Be transparent
