FedEx Express Canada’s Finance team is looking for a Project Advisor for Mississauga office (currently remote).
Summary
Project Advisor will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of innovative and replicable solutions in support of strategic initiatives for the MD Controller organization, supporting the long term goals of process improvement, technology and process modernization and customer experience excellence. Demonstrate organizationally recognized competency in all areas of project development including; opportunity identification and assessment, building and designing a solution, quantification and justification of benefits, launching the most feasible solution and evaluating the metrics of success. Independently work closely with FedEx executives in developing strategies to drive operational and customer experience excellence.
Responsibilities
- Leads complex, cross-functional projects with minimal supervision. Effectively manages and oversees multiple projects within time, cost and resource constraints. Directs and influences team leads to ensure collaboration and seamless execution to produce measurable and desired outcomes. Focuses team on priorities and establishes goals.
- Accesses, assimilates and analyzes data to determine business opportunities and risks. Consistently evaluates historical performance and recommends improvements. Recognizes when new data/information calls into question existing rational/analysis and modifies structure appropriately.
- Translates abstract business problems into analytical questions and performs the appropriate analysis, defines acceptable standards of deviation and makes recommendations to alter performance. Gathers, understands and evaluates information to define its impact to the project or business unit(s); develops scenario based contingency plans; and makes recommendations. Recognizes and reacts to contributory causes of business problems.
- Develops Executive level presentations with minimal supervision. Simplifies, expands or summarizes other’s information into usable content without changing original meaning. Effectively communicates both up and down the chain of command. Facilitates
brainstorming sessions, group discussions, and stakeholder meetings. Communicates ideas, impacts and recommendations in an easy to understand and use format. * Leads project teams. Leverages existing resource network to effectively solve business problems. Solves complex problems, adapts to changing work environment and supports critical Corporate initiatives. Proactively establishes collaborative working relationships within and external to department. Establishes rapport and networks effectively. Coaches and mentors peers and project team members.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
- Business Administration
- 5 years Experience in Project Management, Business Planning, Procedures Analysis and Systems Design.
- Microsoft Word, Excel – Intermediate
- Microsoft Power Point – Advanced
- Writing queries & creating automated applications using SQL & other tools – preferred
- Demonstrated experience in reporting and analytics using SQL – preferred
