Job title: Senior Finance Accountant
Job description: Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Finance Accountant is a key Accounting team member (part of the North America Finance Team)
The SFA is responsible for the month-end close of Haddington. This includes maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries and account reconciliation and preparing variance analysis of the balance sheet and income statements to prior periods. The SFA will also assist in other day-to-day business accounting and finance activities.
Responsibilities
- Full-cycle accounting for Haddington
- Complete the month-end close process, including general accruals
- Prepare, review and enter journal entries; perform all balance sheet account reconciliations; and resolve differences
- Process and post A/P invoices and prepare the check-run file for approval
- Review and process employee reimbursements
- Perform Bank reconciliation
- Responsible for fixed assets accounting
- Complete intercompany reconciliation and post any required entries to the general leader
- Reviewing and preparing financial statement variance analysis to the prior period
- Preparing month-end reporting package upload to the Consolidation team
- Prepare regulatory filings (Use tax; Business personal property tax)
- Assist in year-end audit, tax preparation, and other statutory filings
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
- Assist with additional projects as requested
- Building excellent relationships across Finance and Business, working to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Assisting in continuous improvement projects (including relevant systems) and testing (where required)
- Providing oversight, understanding variances, and proactively identifying problems and opportunities to standardize, streamline and improve processes and accuracy
- Driving the professionalization of Ocado reporting and raising the bar on quality
- Supporting internal control and audit processes and the safeguarding of Ocado assets
- Embedding a culture of controls within the team, responsible for operating effectiveness of all key controls within the department’s processes and remediation of any control weaknesses

- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Relevant financial qualifications (CPA license required) and understanding of relevant regulatory environments. Strong knowledge of IFRS
- 5+ years accounting experience
- In-depth understanding of core financial processes and relevant systems preferred (Odue, Oracle Fusion, FCCS, EPBCS)
- Good knowledge of accounting, tax and reporting standards & principles,
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, global organization
- Excellent excel skills
- Hands-on experience in a similar size company; “can-do” the mechanics of the function
- Strong analytic, organizational skills, attention to detail
- Outcome-focused; ability to prioritize key activities to achieve outcomes
- Have a continuous improvement mindset; to continually drive efficiency and performance
- Ability to collaborate with peers, members of management and cross-functional team
