The Finance General team manages the planning and direction of finance process and activities. Activities include the efficient operation and cost-effectiveness of operating systems and programs.
This role in summary:
An integral member of the Canada Finance Team and people leader to an Analyst and Sr. Analyst. The Finance Sr. Manager* will report to the Director, Finance and interact with several senior leaders through the organization. Specifically, the incumbent will lead the financial closure, planning and forecasting process for Whirlpool Canada’s Major Domestic Appliance business in coordination with the North America financial planning and analysis team. This role interacts directly with the retail and builder sales teams enabling value-added analysis for profitable decision making with market place investments. Additionally, this role supports our growing direct to consumer strategy with financial insights.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Own marketplace investment controls and compliance; including quarterly accounting memos, balance sheet review, and interfacing with both internal and external audit teams.
- Deliver timely and accurate monthly and year-end financial statements.
- Accountable for monthly marketplace investment accrual and spending management review with sales, brand, and category departments.
- Manage Major Domestic Appliance business annual financial processes and forecasting.
- Accountable for monthly financial reporting and leadership reviews.
- People Management: Motivate and develop financial analysts by involving them in complex analytics to grow their critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Collaborate and Network: Leverage the knowledge of others through building excellent cross-functional, and intra-regional relationships.
- Lead Strategic Initiatives: Finance is consistently involved in projects to better support our business partners. Every member of the finance team will lead certain aspects of various projects that will advance our business with profitability, cost reduction, process improvement.
- Continuous Improvement: Ensure that the control environment is robust, eliminate non-value add activities, streamline existing processes, deploy training to assist business partners to understand the financial impacts of changes in the business.
Minimum requirements:
- University graduate with degree with accounting designation (CMA/CGA/CA) and/or MBA with finance focus
- 7+ years of accounting and/or finance experience or commercial business experience (combination thereof)
- 2+ years people management experience
- Proficient knowledge of excel and SAP
Preferred skills and experiences:
- Proficient understanding of key financial concepts and working knowledge of Income Statement, balance sheet, cash flow statements
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage several initiatives and deliver results through team
- Proven analytical skills and the ability to model financial scenarios
- Strong attention to detail in both reviewing and preparing reports
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and interact successfully with Senior leaders and intra-regional contacts
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities for self and team
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Systems and application experience with Google, SAP, Tableau, Anaplan
- Openness to cross functional career opportunities
- Willingness to relocate for a 2 year assignment within the finance organization in the future
