ABOUT THE TEAM
The Investment Finance Department is responsible for performing investment activity accounting, preparing financial information related to private market asset classes and preparing financial statements for our legal entities. We are also responsible for collecting referential data related to private market asset class investments and underlings to meet the information needs of our stakeholders.
ABOUT YOUR ROLE
As a Senior Manager, Investment Finance, you will be responsible of the management and preparation of the subsidiaries’ financial information for PSP investments’ Canadian and International subsidiaries. Your responsibilities will include:
Act as the main contact person for interactions with directors and senior directors of the Taxation, Legal and Investment Support departments regarding all information on legal structures and subsidiaries
Participate actively in the decision-making process for the planning of the legal structure, in collaboration with other departments to ensure that needs are met within the required timeframes
Maintain an in-depth understanding of current legal structures and acquire a quick understanding of new structures by participating in planning meetings with other stakeholders and reviewing analyses carried out by analysts
Be responsible for supervising the updating of existing processes, taking into consideration the specific features of each legal structure
Supervise and review the management and updating of documentation related to subsidiary recognition in a timely manner
Supervise and review the preparation of subsidiaries’ audited and unaudited financial statements on a yearly basis and more frequently if required
Supervise the implementation, maintenance and documentation of processes and controls needed for preparing subsidiaries’ financial statements
Maintain a good understanding of the accounting system to ensure that transactions are recorded according to the organization’s standards and procedures
Review and coordinate complete, accurate and timely information for accounting, reporting and management purposes, at month end, quarter end, year-end and on an ad-hoc basis
Assist in department initiative and special projects
Assist in various other tasks specific to the team’s activities, including Ad Hoc requests
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Minimum of 10 years of related working experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with a specialization in accounting
Professional designation (CPA-CA, CPA-CGA or CPA-CMA)
Excellent organizational skills and highly capable of prioritizing
Autonomy and sense of responsibility
Solid analytical, financial and accounting skills
Team spirit and ability to work in a high-performance culture
Excellent knowledge of Excel and ability to learn how to use new systems
Motivated, flexible and able to adapt
High degree of professionalism with strong spoken and written communication skills
Bilingualism required (fluency in French and English)
Good understanding of private market investments
Knowledge of fair value accounting
