UTSC Management is a world leader in providing undergraduate business education that is heavily influenced by experiential learning and internationalization. Your opportunity:
Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, Co-op Management, the incumbent is responsible for implementing and supporting all Co-op and nonacademic program aspects of the Finance and Quantitative Finance programs. The main areas of responsibility include developing components of student programming and advising, student career development, Advancing Your Career Exploration (AYCE) course development,delivery and facilitation, student recruitment and admissions, and internal/external communications and relations. The incumbent will also reflect on their work and analyze best practices with the goal of sharing with the broader Management Co-op team, staff and faculty
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising students through their own process of career development by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual’s background
- Planning and implementing components of curricular and/or co-curricular programs and activities
- Facilitating educational workshops/seminars and site visits.
- Implementing plans that support the development of work-integrated learning opportunities for students
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
- Probing for information from employers to establish activities that best meet student learning needs
- Developing and revising business methods that support employment services activities and objectives
- Generating reports
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years of related experience in the administration of educational programming, career advising and career development
- Demonstrated expertise in job development and recruitment, gained through working in a role in co-operative education, internship programs or a related recruitment function
- Highly developed presentation, verbal, and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as employers
- Advanced computer literacy and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet development, desktop publishing, databasemanagement, and website management
- Ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality
- Must have excellent conflict resolution skills
- Must be able to stay organized, multi-task and meet deadlines; and exercise accuracy and attention to detail
Assets (Nonessential):
- Experience in financial job development/relationship building is strongly preferred
- Experience in marketing, developing marketing strategies, and promotional materials is an asset
- Previous experience working in post-secondary or not for profit organization is an asset
- Access to vehicle is an asset
