We are looking for a highly motivated co-op student to join our Capital Markets Finance team in Toronto – part of a world-class, winning culture that prioritizes people development and focuses on long-term growth. Please note this is a 4-month co-op position.

Job responsibilities:

Supporting the Data and Platforms teams within Capital Markets Finance, the student will:

Assist in the delivery of internal process improvement initiatives (e.g. DevOps, Repos, SharePoint migration) * Participate in the cataloguing of critical data assets

  • Support process improvement initiatives within Capital Markets Finance Platforms teams
  • Gather business requirements, document business procedures and process flows, and execute testing for new solutions
  • Monitor processing on mission critical applications and analyze issues ensuring that root causes and resolutions are sufficiently documented
  • Collaborate on ad hoc assignments and projects to deliver value to our stakeholders across OMERS

You should apply if:

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree specializing in Accounting/Finance, Computer Science, or Data Analytics
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Capital Markets or FinTech
  • An understanding of investment products including bonds, equities, derivatives, and alternative investments
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Analytical, organized, and great attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience with data engineering tools (e.g., SQL, PowerBI) is an asset
