Our Toronto office is looking for a Civil Engineer with strong water skills and project delivery experience to lead large teams working on major civil infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Act as bid manager on water pursuits
  • Leading the technical input on water proposals
  • Strong technical water skills in the field of liner infrastructure, surface water management, & storm water masterplans.
  • Managing the technical delivery aspects of utilities design and close out on complex civil infrastructure projects
  • Overseeing the quality of work delivered by the Civil Engineering team
  • Mentoring staff to develop future leaders, develop team member skill sets, and promote learning from successes and challenges within the group
  • Promoting collaboration within the Infrastructure Practice and other business groups within Arup locally, regionally and globally
  • Building relationships with current and future key clients and partners and fostering healthy long-term relationships
  • Achieving successful commercial delivery of the projects or portions of projects being delivered by the Infrastructure team through strong technical delivery and efficient close-out
  • Proactively engaging with clients and contractors to prepare high quality, technically efficient and cost-effective project solutions; and
  • Fostering a culture and executing processes that achieve quality outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with water and hydraulic specialism..
  • Professional C.Eng/P.Eng certification
  • 15+ years’ experience in the design and project management of complex Infrastructure projects with emphasis on utilities and water
  • Experience in water infrastructure design & hydraulic modeling
  • Experience delivering Design Build Projects and PPP
  • 5 years’ experience in leading and managing a team of engineers
  • Business development experience
  • Strong technical proposal writing experience
  • Commercial/finance awareness and ability to develop fee proposal
  • The ability to prioritize effectively, manage deadlines and exceptional organization skills required for our rapidly changing environment.
  • Effective presentation skills, with colleagues and clients of all levels.
