SUMMARY:

The Director, Margin Matching & Inventory Control is responsible for overseeing the accurate reporting, accounting processes, and analysis of all components of the store inventory, store margins, warehouse inventory and the regulatory reporting for the LCBO Beer and Wine inventories.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and oversee the Margin Matching and Warehouse Accounting team members
  • Responsible for completing the administrative budget, forecasts, and analysis for the office building and MMS admin departments
  • Direct and oversee weekly analysis for store and warehouse margin, shrink, and inventory assets
  • Review, recommend and follow-up on actions required with store and warehouse inventory
  • Direct and oversee the scheduling of physical inventory counts in stores and warehouses
  • Direct and oversee weekly reporting and analysis for LCBO beer and wine regulatory reporting
  • Direct and oversee weekly sales reporting, sales reimbursement, and revenue collect for the 3rd party vendors
  • Direct and oversee the weekly and periodic reporting process for the area
  • Direct and oversee the production of consolidated weekly and periodic reports for the area
  • Direct and oversee the analysis and commentary on the period-end results for the area
  • Review and approve department account reconciliations on a periodic basis
  • Assist in quarterly and yearly audit processes.
  • Ensure department policies and procedures are consistent with applicable laws, regulations, IFRS standards, and 52-109 controls and that effective controls are in place to measure compliance.
  • Measure efficiency of business accounting processes and define innovation objectives to improve processes within the department, stores, and warehouses.
  • Manage RFP and contracts for various office and stores service suppliers
  • Manage RFP and contract for outside document storage requirements
  • Review, track, and approve invoices for work performed that is associated with these contracts
  • Manage and complete various Statistics Canada reporting
  • Manage and complete Store Part Time staff Stat Holiday payout process
  • Develop business relationships and define qualify of customer service
  • Perform other duties and assist in projects as required

EFFORT AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Office work environment.
  • Must be flexible in hours of work, especially during special project, period end and year-end close activities.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Majority of the work time is spent sitting using the PC, concentrating, analyzing, reviewing reports, emails, providing guidance, and attending business meetings.
  • Occasional travel required to stores, Distribution facilities, and Quebec offices.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business with a professional accounting designation.
  • 7-10 years in relevant accounting or finance experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, business analytics tools, and ERP general ledger experience.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and handle regular strict and urgent deadlines.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and applicable laws and regulations
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
