Are you looking for a part time opportunity? Due to a retirement on their team, our Not For Profit client is looking to hire a replace their Manager, Finance Operations as soon as possible. This position will report to the CEO.
Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Review and process all accounts payable invoices. Provide guidance to others regarding proper GL coding, necessary approvals.
- Prepare biweekly EFT files for approval by CEO and upload for payment
- Process all PAP payments as well as OLP’ s throughout the month. (Rent, benefits, payroll, mc)
- Prepare cheques where required.
- Prepare and/or process all accounts receivable invoices.
- Process all payments of Accounts Receivable.
- Prepare and file HST refunds and payables. Arrange for payment when applicable. Record refunds as received.
- Responsible for all SAGE related matters. AP New Vendor Set Up, AP EFT Set Up, AR Customer Set Up, AP & AR Tax codes, AR Items updates, opening new GL accounts and modifying existing SAGE 300 monthly financial reports, verify subledgers to control accounts. Arrange for consultant to set up new year calendar.
- Monitor bank account and ensure all bank transactions are recorded and reconciled in a timely manner.
- Bank reconciliation (in SAGE 300), Investments transactions, AR, Prepaids, HST Recoverable, Capital Assets, AP including AP accruals, Income and Expenses
- Prepare and post any necessary GL Journal Entries.
Financial Reporting and Budget
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements for management with commentary.
- Prepare accurate quarterly financial statements for the Board with Highlight Summary.
- Lead the annual Forecast and Budget Process.
- Prepare additional financial reports as requested by CEO
Year End/Financial Audit
- Prepare all year end closing entries. Prepaids, Accruals, Fund entries, Capital and Amortization.
- Plan and lead the annual audit. Main point of contact with the Audit Team. Respond or redirect all audit questions. Prepare all working papers, financial statements and notes. Compile and return to the auditors all audit test requests during fieldwork. Review tax returns prepared by the Auditors before filing.
- Responsible for the filing and storage of yearly documents and the destruction of documents no longer required by law.
Requirements
- 10+ years experience in all aspects of financial management, reporting and day to day accounting.
- Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CPA CMA or CPA)
- Knowledge of SAGE 300 or a comparable accounting package.
