Job title: Part Time Controller

Job description: David Aplin Group, one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit for Part-Time Controller based in Edmonton, AB.

Reporting to the Executive Director, this is a great role for someone who wants to work three days per week (a mixture of home and in the office). The successful candidate needs to provide reliable information and financial acumen to the Executive Director, develop and implementation of finance direction, analyses, policies, procedures, reporting methods, and systems.

The Role:

  • Preparing monthly financial statements and variance analysis
  • Reconciling all accounts
  • Processing payroll
  • Invoicing
  • Managing grants
  • Calculating and remitting GST
  • Reconciling donor reports
  • Preparing the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Accounts Payable Invoice coding, entry, and EFT/cheque payments
  • Superuser for accounting software
  • Liaising with external auditors and preparing working papers
  • Providing administration of timesheets, expense claims, and vacation requests
  • Other ad hoc projects

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Professional accounting designation (extensive equivalent work experience will be considered)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A high degree of accuracy and demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and accounting software
